Auchinleck Farm

Our guests are welcome to come and visit our working dairy farm. Cows are gathered two times a day for milking using a special call learned from our Grandfather, “Cup. Cup. Cup. Come home girls. Milking time. Cup. Cup. Cup.” It is suppose to be an invitation to come home for a cup of tea, but we think they prefer the grain!

This picture was taken at 5:30 AM on Victoria Day Monday. This is Auchinleck Neisha Dolman. Here is the link to her records at Holstein Canada:  Neisha

During the winter months our cattle are comfortably housed inside a tie-stall barn. Their stalls are bedded with lots of straw and they have access to an all you can eat buffet of feeds grown on the fertile soil and fresh air of MacCallum’s Point.

Milk is picked up every two days and processed by a local producer owned Cooperative ADL www.adl.ca in Summerside, PEI.
